Senior Project Day 1
Monday, May 8th - Day 1! Total Hours: 4
Today was the first day of senior project, I arrived at my first site, Martin Field, just before 8 am. My first focus was assessing the field and what needs to be done when I will be working there. It took me around an hour to walk the perimeter of the field, take measurements, examine the condition of the fences and dugout structures, and take “before” photos to show the progress made at the end of my project. The second task that I ended up mostly completing today was draining a major puddle in the area where the local softball league wants to put a batting cage up. I made a good amount of progress here, taking around an hour and a half to complete. After I finished this, I took about thirty minutes to walk around the field and pick up trash in the field, inside and outside the dugouts, and under the bleachers. Lastly, I went through the 3 storage sheds and took inventory of the supplies in there before I start the painting and landscaping parts of my project tomorrow and the rest of the week; this process took an hour. Overall, I spent 4 hours on my senior project this morning, going from 8 am to 12 pm.
